A Parent’s Journey to Creating a Supportive Community
I’m Saira, a single parent to 3 incredible neurodivergent boys, partner to a wonderfully supportive man, a qualified primary school teacher and a trained physiotherapist. But more than that - I’m someone who’s lived the daily realities of parenting neurodivergent children: the meltdowns, the system fights, the shutdowns, the loneliness and the burnout.
My journey with neurodiversity has been anything but easy. After my ADHD diagnosis a few years ago, everything clicked into place - the brain fog, the emotional overload, the constant burnout. What followed was a deep, chaotic, powerful unraveling and rebuilding.
During this time, I: navigated divorce and single parenthood; fought for my children’s school accommodations; worked multiple jobs while building a business; dealt with the emotional and logistical chaos that comes with raising ND children; and lived through shutdowns, advocacy trauma, sensory overload, and emotional burnout.
But through it all, one thing became painfully clear - there wasn’t enough support for families like ours. That’s why I created The Harbour Community; the space I wish I'd had - a calm, welcoming community for parents and care givers raising neurodivergent children who are exhausted, overwhelmed and still showing up.
I know first-hand how isolating and exhausting this journey can be. I also know how powerful community is when you find people who truly get it. My dream is for The Harbour to grow into a full spectrum supporthub that supports neurodivergent families in every way possible - offering advocacy, resources and a space where you can be unapologetically yourself.
If you’ve made it this far - thank you! Your support means the world. Please explore The Harbour, connect with us on Instagram and help spread the word. Every like, share and comment helps us reach more families who need this space.
Together, we’re stronger. Welcome to The Harbour.

Welcome to The Harbour.
Support for Parents of Neurodivergent Children
Parenting a neurodivergent child can feel like navigating uncharted waters - overwhelming, unpredictable and deeply isolating.
The meltdowns, shutdowns, sensory storms and school battles aren’t just exhausting - they leave you questioning if you’re doing enough, or doing it “right.” But what if it didn’t have to feel like surviving a storm alone?
At The Harbour, you’ll gain more than just resources - you’ll find real connection, expert guidance and a community that truly gets it. Imagine facing each challenge with confidence, knowing you have the tools and support to navigate whatever comes your way.
You’ll discover strategies that work, friendships that uplift and the confidence to advocate for your child and yourself. Because when you have the right support, parenting doesn’t just feel easier - it feels empowering.
